BurmaMart (“BurmaMart”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a cross-border shopping marketplace operated by MSCT PTE LTD, a company registered in Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our mobile apps and website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to shoppers, sellers and visitors across our markets in Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore and Japan.

By creating an account, placing an order, or otherwise using BurmaMart, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information we collect

• Account & profile: your name, email address, phone number, password (stored encrypted) and, for sellers, business details.
• Orders & delivery: delivery addresses, recipient name and phone, order and cart contents, and order history.
• Payments: the payment method you choose and, for bank/e-wallet transfers, the payment slip or reference you upload so we can confirm your order. We do not store full card numbers; card and gateway payments, where offered, are handled by the relevant payment provider.
• Verification: a one-time code sent to your phone (via Viber or WhatsApp) to verify orders and deliveries.
• Communications: messages you exchange with sellers or support, reviews and ratings you post.
• Device & usage: app version, device type and operating system, language, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications. We use basic analytics and cookies to keep you signed in and to improve the service.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and to process, deliver and support your orders.
• To verify orders, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the marketplace safe.
• To confirm payments and, where applicable, handle refunds and returns.
• To send you order updates and, if you opt in, promotions and push notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations in the markets we serve.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the marketplace:

• Sellers & merchants receive the details needed to fulfil your order (recipient name, delivery address, phone and items).
• Delivery and logistics partners receive delivery details to complete cross-border and local shipping.
• Payment providers process payments you authorise.
• Service providers (hosting, messaging, analytics) act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities where required by law, or to protect our rights, users and the public.

Cross-border transfers

BurmaMart operates across Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore and Japan. To deliver your orders, your information may be processed in a country other than your own. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to protect it consistently with this policy.

Data retention & security

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. We use technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls and encrypted passwords — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights & choices

• Access, update or correct your account information from within the app or by contacting us.
• Request a copy of your personal information, or permanently delete your account and personal data at any time.
• Opt out of marketing messages and disable push notifications at any time.
• Close your account by contacting support.

Children

BurmaMart is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised “last updated” date, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.

Information from sellers

If you apply to sell on BurmaMart, we additionally collect your shop name, business phone, country, shop description, and government ID / business registration documents (KYC) for verification. KYC documents are stored on a private, staff-only system and are never shown publicly. We use this information to review and approve seller applications, verify your identity, calculate commission and payouts, and meet our own legal and anti-fraud obligations.
